In 1973 Abrie & Linda Coetzee became the proud owners of an erf in Schoongezicht on the outskirts of Durbanville. The adjoining land had cattle and sheep grazing peacefully - to such an extent that Linda sometimes had to chase away the cows from the garden in the morning before going to school where she was teaching. Durbanville was a little village where people greeted one another and knew everyone by name. Here they started their family and Abrie used to play “kleilat” with their three youngsters during school holidays. The community cared for one another and the children had freedom of the area—they roamed on their bikes and entertained their friends to picnics on the park across the street form the house.
The Coetzees are privileged to invite you to stay over at Schoongezicht where family hands have worked hard throughout generations to create a haven away from home.
Durbanville is a bustling town, but the village feeling still prevails. With the winelands within walking distance and lots of interesting places to visit, Schoongezicht is a memorable place to stay and to return to. Whether you would like to rest or roam about—you’ll be welcomed and treated with respect. Personal service, but professionalism, is of utmost importance to us. We look forward to being of service.
True to the family tradition, Ben (aged 26), has qualified as a master carpenter. He has done an extensive range of quality work over the past few years i.e. designer furniture, shop interiors, sound studios, etc.
